Women of Deir-Ez-Zour Receive Arms Training

With the aim of promoting self-protection and self-reliance to protect the region from any threat to the population, members of the committees and councils of women in Deir ez-Zor began to learn about the use of weapons, trained by the Women Administration and Young Women.

Twenty-one female trainees from the Women Councils of al-Kasrat and al-Jazrat, the Women Committee of the Civil Council and the Women Committee of the Legislative Council joined the training.

Zahra al-Taeh, a member of Women Council in al-Jazrat said “We wanted to learn about weapons to protect the region from any imminent danger and to promote the concept of self-protection.”

The training is scheduled to continue to include all women in the region.

The region of Deir-Ez-Zor is the last stronghold of Daesh (ISIS), east of the Euphrates. Since the luanch of the military campaign, the SDF has been battling trying to remove them from this area.
