The fascist Turkish regime launched, what it is calling “Operation Claw-2” in northern Iraq against revolutionary forces.
The first operation “Claw-1” was launched in the Hakurk region. These two operations appear to be part of a larger strategy for a potential Turkish state invasion east of the Euphrates against revolutionary forces in Rojava.
Erdogan’s regime has increased its military forces near the border of Rojava, bringing more than 50 tanks, artillery batteries, and armored vehicles to the border of Tal Abyad.
Free Syrian Army (FSA) mercenaries in al-Bab and Jarablus have been, reportedly, put on full alert, and their commanders met in Ankara with fascist Turkish forces to discuss details for an offensive.
The Turkish state has also began removing the barrier wall placed on the border of Tal Abyad north of Rojava.
Inside Turkey and in Iraq fascist forces have faced fierce resistance. Every day they face attacks and their motion has been halted in Iraq.
But due to Turkey’s international realignment – drifting farther away from US imperialism and closer to Russian imperialism – the potential for an invasion seems to be increasingly possible.
Revolutionaries around the world should prepare for this reality. Revolutionary groups, like Tekoşîna Anarşîs, are based in Rojava, and solidarity with all the forces in the region may become paramount.
