TPNPB Shoots Dead 2 Indonesian Soldiers in Intan Jaya

On September 23, 2020, there was gunfire between the TPNPB-OPM special forces and the Indonesian Security Forces TNI-POLRI in the Intan Jaya area, by the yard of the Intan Jaya Papua Regent’s Office.

The Kodap III Ndugama Elite Force of TPNPB-OPM claimed responsibility for shooting dead a member of the TNI-POLRI (Indonesian security forces) troops and shot a Ronda 4 vehicle that was crossing on the main road in Intan Jaya, Papua.

“The situation in the capital city of Intan Jaya Regency is tense and we have controlled the highway of the capital city of Sugapa district of Intan Jaya,” said Yodiut Kogeya, who is often referred to as the Commander of Kodap III Ndugama Elite Force.

There has also been a gun battle at Sugapa Airport at 5.30pm Local Time in Sugapa, Intan Jaya, Papua. During the gun battle, the TPNPB-OPM troops reported that they had shot dead a TNI-POLRI troop at Sugapa Airport.

According to information from Yodiut Kogeya, it was reported that at that time the TNI-POLRI troops were getting ready for the afternoon patrol. We shot dead 1 TNI member who died with a target shot to the cerebellum and the shoulder and died on the spot. However, to this day, the Indonesian Colonial Military Leader of the TNI- POLRI has not announced the death. And the shooting was carried out by the Special Forces Raider TPNPB Kodap III Ndugama.

“All shooting against TNI-POLRI troops is a war; if we shoot dead a Papuan who is already a member of the TNI-Polri, it means that they have been purchased by the Indonesian State, so we still shoot them,” said Yodiut Kogeya Komadan, the Elite Force Military Command, Kodap III Ndugama. “We shot about 2 or 3, but what we got was a report from the PIS that one person died.”

“The TPNPB-OPM War is clearly the West Papua National War of Independence. TPNPB-OPM remains the West Papua Liberation Army; that’s why TNI-POLRI Forces shoot West Papuan people. It’s obvious. But we, TPNPB-OPM Leaders and Troops will not shoot our people, as the TNI-POLRI Forces have shot the Rev. Yeremia Zanabani. That is the deception of the Indonesian State against the Papuan people.

If there are dead, but the Indonesian government do not want to announce the death toll or injuries of the TNI-POLRI troops in the field, it means that it is the matter of the Indonesian State Officials, which is important for us to shoot and redeem the independence of the West Papuan Nation.”
