TPNPB Guerrilla Attack on Indonesian Military/Police in Intan Jaya: 2 Shot

The West Papua National Liberation Army (TPNPB) stated that they intercepted a group of TNI / Polri (Indonesian military/police) and the Joint Fact Finding Team (TGPF) in Intan Jaya, Papua. Two Indonesian colonizers were shot by guerrillas in the attack.

The shooting was carried out by TPNPB guerrillas on Friday October 9. The ambush was carried out in Mamba village, Sugapa district, Intan Jaya.

The TPNPB rejected any efforts by Joint Fact Finding Team (TGPF), an Indonesian colonial force, to reveal the perpetrator who shot Rev. Yeremia Zanambani some time ago in Bomba, Hitadipa, Intan Jaya.

“The shooting of Rev. Yeremia was carried out by the TNI. We reject the investigation team brought in from Jakarta, so we carried out the shooting.”

“In many cases in Papua when civilians become victims, we are always the scapegoat. Even though it was Indonesia who [shot Rev. Yeremia]. We did the shooting today, ” a TPNPB spokesperson stated.

First, in the morning, TPNPB claimed to have carried out a shooting at the regent’s office building in Intan Jaya. Second, in the afternoon, TPNPB conducted an interception in the village of Mamba against the group traveling from Hitadipa to Sugapa.

One member of the Joint Fact Finding Team (TGPF) Intan Jaya was shot while he was about to carry out an investigation in Hitadifa District, Intan Jaya, Papua.

A member of the Indonesian military who was part of the investigation team was also shot by guerrillas.
