Six Soldiers Killed in Guerrilla Ambush in Philippines

Six soldiers were killed and nine wounded on Tuesday during the first major revolutionary guerrilla attack in the Philippines since the celebration of the 50th anniversary of insurgency.

At dawn, the soldiers carried out a counter-guerrilla operation (verifying reports of guerrilla activity in the surrounding area) in a mountainous region of central Samar province, when guerrillas detonates an IED as they passed before bombarding them. The shooting lasted four hours.

After 50 years of revolutionary insurgency, guerrilla warfare continues against the forces of the fascist Duterte regime in the Philippines.
