Easter Rising Commemorations marks the anniversary of the 1916 Easter Rising, an armed insurrection in Ireland during Easter Week, April 1916. The Rising began on Easter Monday, 24 April, 1916, and lasted for six days when the British Army suppressed the Rising, sending 1800 people to internment camps, executing the rebels, and imposing martial law.
