A park was named after Anarchist YPG fighter Lorenzo Orsetti in the Italian capital Rome.

Tekoşîna Anarşist (Anarchist Struggle) fighter Lorenzo Orsetti (Tekoser Piling) lost his life in Baghouz on March 18 during the battle against ISIS. His body reached his hometown Florence on June 15 and a funeral was held on June 24.

There have been several events held in memory of the internationalist fighter in the last week throughout Italy and a park was named after him in Rome on Thursday.

Orsetti also fought in Afrin and Deir Ezzor, and helped build the anarchist unit in Rojava.

Lorenzo Orsetti said in his final statement, “I wish all of you all the best in the world and I hope that one day, you too will decide to give your life for others (if you haven’t already) because that is the only way to change the world. Only by overcoming the individualism and selfishness in each of us can we make a difference.”
