Palestinians Launch Fierce Resistance Against Israeli Occupation

Daily riots and protests have been erupting in Jerusalem, Haifa, Jaffa, Lod, Ramla, Ramalla, Gaza, and other places. In Nablus, Palestinians have burned down a military tower. Around 20 settler cars have been burned by demonstrators. A pre-military academy in Lod was set on fire May 10th.

This uprisings were set off by the attempted occupation of Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood and the attacks by Israeli and right wing settlers against people going to Al Aqsa mosque during Ramadan.

Al Aqsa became a site of demonstration. Israeli forces brought in tear gas and rubber bullets, injuring 270 people. Additionally, Isreal has launched airstrikes at the population, killing 30 people (including 10 children). Latest reports show occupation forces bombing Palestinians with white phosphorous.

Armed forces have come the the defense of the people. The Ebu Ali Mustafa Brigades, the armed wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), announced a counter-operation called ‘Call of Jerusalem.’ Fatah’s Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigade claimed responsibility for some of the rocket attacks on Friday night, while the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine’s Abu Ali Mustapha Brigades took credit for attacks on both Friday night and Saturday night.
