Palestinian Authority Demolishes Political Prisoner's Family Home

On the night of May 10th to 11th, Israeli forces demolished the family home of Palestinian political prisoner Qassam Barghouthi.

The 25-year-old was arrested and imprisoned in September 2019. He is accused of having participated in an armed action by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).

Four Palestinians were arrested in the Israeli operation last year: Samer al-Arabeed, Qassam Barghouthi, Yazan Maghames and Nizam sami Awlad Mohammed. This cell is said to have carried out an explosive attack on a water tank near the Dolev settlement, which killed one person on August 23 and injured two others.

The demolition of prisoners’ houses in the occupied West Bank is part of a policy of double punishment and intimidation practiced by the Israeli occupation.
