Mapuche Community Recuperates Land

The Mapuche community in Lof Likankurra in Mulchén, Chile has entered the Rankilko estate on December 27-28, 2018 to take their lands.

The communique:

“From the lands of the Lof Likankurra of the Guapitrio zone, we communicate to the current government, to the Mapuche public and to the society in general:

We have entered the Rankilko estate in the Mulchén municipality of the VIII region of Bio Bio. This estate is in the hands of large landowners who took the land from us using violence against our people.

This indefinite mobilization seeks to retake our land and territory—a fundamental right for the future of our Mapuche people.

It should also be stated that this mobilization is part of our struggle for justice for our Mapuche brothers assassinated by the Chilean state. Such is the case of our brothers Camilo Catrillanca, Jaime Mendoza Collio, Matias Catrileo, Alex Lemún, Zenen Dias Necul, Luis Marileo and Patricio Gonzales. Each one of these Mapuche people is victim of the cowardly actions of the Chilean police.

Our community has revived the Rankilko estate of the municipality of Mulchén for more than 15 years and today we will give the necessary force to remain within our lands.

Justice for Camilo Catrillanca

Freedom to the Mapuche political prisoners

Lof Likankurra. Wallmapuche.
