A government soldier was killed and six others injured in an attack launched Monday by revolutionary guerrillas in an isolated village outside Labo City in the province of Camarines Norte.

A platoon from the 9th Infantry Division was on patrol at 9:20 a.m. in Barangay Baay when it was ambushed. The guerrillas detonated an IED on the way to the patrol, then opened heavy fire on the soldiers.

Insurgents in the Philippines are actively attacking state forces, as the fascist Duterte remains in power.
