Four Turkish Soldiers Killed by HPG in Şernax

The People’s Defense Forces (HPG) carried out an operation against the Turkish occupation army in Kato Jîrka of Şernax, killing 4 Turkish soldiers.

HPG forces stationed in Kato region in the Kurdistan state of Şernax on July 29, 2020 targeted a unit of the Turkish occupation army which was wandering in the region as part of the Turkish occupation campaigns on the positions of the Kurdistan People’s Defense Forces. HPG forces were following up the movements of the Turkish unit until it fell in their ambush, which resulted in breaking out clashes between the two sides, killing 4 Turkish soldiers, and wounding another.

The Turkish occupation forces launched a military campaign on the 13th of last June in Gabar region in the Kurdish state of Şernax, and the Turkish occupation forces targeted the area with intense air strikes. They also carried out landing operations with Skorsky aircrafts.

On the 30th of last June, the Turkish occupation forces targeted through Obis and mortar cannons sites in Avaşîn region in the defense zones, and the shelling led to breaking out fires in the forests surrounding the region.
